The Nextfit Keychain Trainer is a device that looks like a flash drive and plays like an MP3 player. You plug it into your computer and answer a few questions about your goals. You can choose numerous goals and then pick your MAIN priority. Choose Bodybuilding, Pilates, Marathon Training, Prenatal Workouts, Yoga, Stretch, Spinning…..choose from MANY options! Once you make your choices it will recommend a few trainers and give you some info on how each one of them will train you. You get to pick your trainer, how long you work out, how many days a week and it will then map out customized workouts for you EVERY DAY. You can change your goals daily….so you can lift heavy one day, run one day, and do Yoga another. You can even download multiple times each day so that you could start the morning with some stretching and finish with a killer workout! It is really amazing.

With the click of a button your device will begin to download your tailored workout. Once the download is complete you just pop in your earphones and you are ready to go. It will guide you step by step through your workout as if your personal trainer was right there with you! It will play its own music or you can load your own on it….all while it is guiding you around home or the gym to perform your workout. You set how long and how hard you want to workout and it will count out your rest in between sets and reps on each exercise. This little gadget even guides you through very detailed explainations of how to perform each exercies. Settings on the Keychain Trainer allow you to determine how many times you recieve instructions and you can even decide which exercises you know well enough to not recieve instruction! They really thought of everything!!!

Once you are done you should give feedback to "Improve Next Workout". This is where you tell it if it was hard enough, if you don't want to do some of the exercises it had you do (like if you don't have that machine at your gym), or if you don't want instructions anymore. This will update all subsequent workouts. Be careful though, I made the mistake of trying to see how hard the workouts could go! I just kept clicking “too easy” and it just about killed me! I am STILL paying for that mistake!

I am using the Keychain Trainer with my clients to supplement our training session. There is just no way everyone can workout with me every day, so this is my supplemental trainer.
